We have made a conscious decision to reduce the amount of clear Cedar that we use in our barrel saunas. In Canada, clear Cedar comes almost exclusively from old growth forests. Primarily on the West coast and Vancouver island. It’s just something we can not support anymore. Some of our competitors will say any other Cedar is inferior. It is not. We select only the best “Select Tight Knot” graded Cedar from the most reputable mills for your barrel sauna. We then further go through each piece of wood to ensure quality. It is called tight knot for a reason; the knots are not loose and will not fall out.

We may lose some sales over this, but that’s okay. We would rather sell what we believe in.
